With torches lit, tables set and a cool breeze in the air, Tampa Bay Watch and American Strategic Insurance proudly hosted the Annual Evening for the Bay: Tahitian Nights on Saturday, November 4. The spirit of the islands captured the imagination of over 400 supporters and friends for an evening of dinner, cocktails, auctions and Polynesian entertainment. Guests were awed by live art demonstrations by painter Robert Phelps and Zen Glass Studio, while others relaxed into the sunset on plush seating provided by Lowe's Home Improvement.
As the sun went down and Bonefish Grill dinner began, drums sounded their rhythmic beating for hula and fire dancers to share the tale of the Tahitian Islands. Exciting live and silent auctions successfully raised critical funds for habitat restoration and Estuary EDventures programs and hopeful winners took their chance at selecting a rare vintage bottle off the Cooper's Hawk Wine Wall. All proceeds of the evening benefited the year-round missions of Tampa Bay Watch.
Thank you to the volunteers, donors, sponsors, staff and attendees for making this year's Evening for the Bay a true delight! With your help, we raised over $90,000 for the restoration and education missions of Tampa Bay Watch!
