Special Events Coordinator
Previous special events coordination experience of 2-3 years minimum. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Requires detail-oriented, highly organized, and budget conscious individual who can maintain the momentum and growth of special event fundraisers at Tampa Bay Watch. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, and eTapestry software. Must be able to communicate (verbally and in writing) in an effective manner with sponsors, donors, volunteers, and supporters and have genuine interpersonal relationship skills. Basic knowledge of estuarine ecosystems and Tampa Bay Watch projects and education initiatives is beneficial.
The Special Events Coordinator is a member of the development team and is primarily responsible for spearheading Tampa Bay Watch fundraiser events and working to create new events with the goal of generating revenue and awareness about Tampa Bay Watch. Major events include Bay Life Art Show, Tarpon Rodeo, and Evening for the Bay. Also responsible for leading third party fundraisers and secondary awareness events that arise. Event coordination includes (but is not limited to) sponsor and auction donation acquisition, budgeting, marketing, planning, and execution of pre-, day of-, and post-event responsibilities.
It is anticipated that this position will require 30-40 hours per week.

Tampa Bay Watch Estuary EDventures Internship
Tampa Bay Watch seeks environmental education interns to assist the Estuary EDventures program with Tampa Bay area school field experiences and/or summer camps. Duties of successful applicants will include assisting in the implementation of Estuary EDventures program materials to local school groups and/or summer camps, assisting in service-learning habitat restoration projects, maintenance of educational materials and aquarium exhibits, and assistance with basic administrative duties.
• Seeking or have completed a degree in environmental studies/science, biology, or marine biology.
• Reliable, responsible, take initiative, and act in a professional and appropriate manner at all times.
• Comfortable in and around the water, handling marine animals, able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and capable of spending long hours in various conditions in the great Florida outdoors.
• Experience working with kids and/or aquarium exhibits a plus.
• Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR certifications are preferable.

Hours: Two weekdays, 9:00am – 2:00pm

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Summer season: June – August (Resumes accepted: February – May 1)
