| Tampa Bay Watch Education Programs |
Tampa Bay Watch makes the bay better by empowering citizens of all ages for environmental stewardship. Through our education efforts, bay area students, residents and visitors are equipped with the knowledge, skill and desire to act as stewards of their environment. Personal experience with nature builds the desire to protect nature, which is why we are helping the bay area community to experience amazing Tampa Bay.

Teachers, students, and community members, take an opportunity to learn more about bay stewardship--learning to take good care of our precious Tampa Bay.
By participating in Estuary EDventures programs (teacher training, field trips, summer camps, and kayak ecotours), you are not only helping the bay; you’re helping yourself too! By learning more about the bay and assisting us with our restoration efforts, you will be helping to restore the health of Tampa Bay. Why is this important? If you enjoy boating, swimming, or water skiing, you want to do these activities in clean, safe water. Our restoration projects help keep the water clean and provide critical habitat for fish and wildlife. Building a safe place for growing fish and shellfish means more adult fish and shellfish to catch!

Do you enjoy watching wildlife? Our projects provide safe feeding and nesting places for birds (those that live here all the time and those that migrate here from hundreds, or even thousands, of miles away). And since our projects make water cleaner, it means better habitat for manatees, dolphins and other bay wildlife! Also, with Estuary EDventures, you will learn by doing! This is a chance to apply many of the ideas and skills from your school curriculum in a real life context. It’s also a chance to get outside and have some fun!
The Estuary EDventures Mission:
To educate students about the Tampa Bay ecosystem and estuarine ecology while encouraging and empowering students to act as stewards of this important natural resource.
The Rundown:
The Estuarine EDventures Program, an environmental education program for Tampa Bay area students, will build environmental literacy and encourage stewardship while educating students about estuarine science and habitat restoration through a combination of classroom curriculum and field experience. Tampa Bay Watch education staff conducts the field experience at Cunningham Key in Pinellas County at the mouth of Tampa Bay. Estuarine EDventures will empower students with the knowledge, skills and desire to act as stewards of the Tampa Bay estuary.

About our Education Center:
Tampa Bay Watch’s Education Center is the perfect spot for children and adults alike to learn about our beautiful and fragile marine environment. With 1,875 square feet of interior space and a 650 square foot deck, the Education Center can hold up to 50 people. It is equipped with a wet lab, a variety of marine science equipment, and a salt water aquarium which students help us keep stocked! Tampa Bay watch conducts classes and camps in the Education Center and it is also available for use by the public as additional space (such as bridal prep room) when using the community center.
