SOLAR POWER FUELS OUR FACILITY

The Tampa Bay Watch Marine & Education center now features a complete solar array

Tampa Bay Watch recently worked with Duke Energy to construct a 54 KW photovoltaic (PV) solar system at our Marine and Education Center. The PV Solar System provides a clean, renewable source of energy and benefits the Tampa Bay community by:

- Helping to defray up to 85% of our annual electrical consumption, reducing our facility costs that in turn allow us to dedicate more of our resources to the restoration of Tampa Bay.

- Reduce our carbon footprint in our community and advance our goal of becoming a carbon-neutral organization.

- Over its 25-year lifespan, our 54 KW system will result in the reduction of 3.1 million tons of CO2, equal to planting 36,000 trees and offset driving 3.3 million miles of driving the average car!

- Providing an Solar Educational Station for visiting school groups and community groups to learn more about the value of solar generated electricity. The Solar Education Station will also identify all of the solar sponsors.

Tampa Bay Watch needs your help!

Sponsor a solar panel today.

Adopt a panel in our solar array for a gift of $500. The panel will have your sponsored name linked to it online where you can monitor the power generated by your individual panel. Your name will also be listed on the Solar Education Station as an Adopt a Panel Sponsor and listed on this website page.

A major sponsorship pledge of $5,000 will sponsor a string of 15 solar panels. Major sponsors will have their logos included on the Solar Education Station and on the solar array website page.

About Solar Panel Technology

Solar Energy is by far the largest energy resource on earth. More solar energy hits the Earth every 90 minutes than all of humanity uses in an entire year. Solar Energy dwarfs all other forms of energy, including all fossil fuels and other renewable sources combined!
