Native Planting
Native Planting
June 20, 2025 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
G.T. Bray Park, 5502 33rd Ave Dr W, Bradenton, FL 34209, USA
Join Manatee County Natural Resources and Tampa Bay Watch for a hands-on planting event at G.T. Bray Park (5502 33rd Ave Dr W, Bradenton, FL 34209) on Friday, June 20th from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Volunteers are needed to transplant native aquatic and upland vegetation around a stormwater pond as part of an exciting freshwater restoration project. This pond was planted during the fall of last year, but much of the vegetation installed was soon lost during the hurricanes. We will be replanting the areas most affected by the storms with native plants that help stabilize the pond’s edge, filter runoff, and improve water quality, while also creating habitat for birds, pollinators, and aquatic life! Click here to register to volunteer!
