Tampa Bay Watch is recruiting volunteers to build oyster reef balls. This task involves pouring marine-friendly concrete into a fiberglass mold to create oyster reef balls, then taking apart the molds when dry. Tampa Bay Watch, in partnership with Pinellas County, is recruiting volunteers for a nursery planting at our new community wetland nursery located at Fort De Soto Park, 3500 Pinellas Bayway S, Tierra Verde, FL 33715. The project involves taking bare-root plants and planting them into pots. The plants grown in our wetland nurseries will be used for future community plantings across the watershed to restore valuable habitat.

Tampa Bay Watch is recruiting volunteers to help install an oyster shell bar on the shoreline of MacDill Air Force Base.

We will be installing an oyster shell bar which involves shoveling fossilized shell into mesh bags and transporting the bags to lay on the shoreline. The goal of our efforts is to restore lost habitat by promoting new oyster growth, ultimately improving water quality and providing food sources and habitat for many species. Click here to register to volunteer. 

At Earth Night 2024 – Eat, Art, Earth, guests are invited to sample unique, planet-friendly ingredients prepared by talented faces from our area's culinary scene. The bar will feature delicious house beverages, and food-inspired creations by some of Tampa Bay’s most talented artists will be up for auction. Proceeds from this event help students from underserved local communities participate in meaningful marine science education programs hosted by the Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center.
