Empowering students through virtual estuary education

Catch a glimpse of the estuary through our virtual programs streamed live in your classroom! Our virtual programs provide teachers and students a variety of learning opportunities from the comfort of their classroom. Our programs are designed to teach basic science principles and leave students empowered to act as environmental stewards. Virtual-learning requires teacher participation and preparation with the guidance of Tampa Bay Watch educators.

Field trip kits

Field trip kits are hands-on, marine science labs taught virtually by Tampa Bay Watch educators.
Field trip kits are delivered directly to your school and include all supplies needed for your virtual program.

$75 per program

Plankton Encounter

Students observe water samples from the estuary and discover the life within a water drop. Students learn about some of the smallest plants and animals in the marine environment and their importance. This lab is for 2nd-8th.

Squid Dissection

Through a dissection, students learn about the anatomy of squid and their unique adaptations. This lab is for 5th-8th.

Presentations

A short, virtual presentation by Tampa Bay Watch educators engages your students while offering a glance at the Tampa Bay estuary and its inhabitants.

$50 per program

Fish Adaptations

Students learn the basic anatomy and physiology of different fish species found in the Tampa Bay estuary and discuss the strategies that make fish successful in their environment. Conclude with a glimpse of our large aquariums housing many fish species found in the bay.

Talkin' About Turtles

Meet Palm, our resident ornate diamondback terrapin, in this presentation about terrapins and basic turtle biology. Observe Palm up close and learn more about his unique adaptations!

Estuary Dynamics

Join our educators as we guide students through the Tampa Bay estuary, discussing the intricacies of the ecosystem. Delve into the habitats and explore the biodiversity within.
